About this day nursery

Chantry House Nursery, situated in the heart of Chichester, is an independent day nursery committed to offering an exceptional childcare experience. The nursery focuses on fostering a joyful, stimulating, secure, and nurturing atmosphere, akin to a home away from home.

Children are encouraged to engage in play, exploration, and experimentation, thereby developing into confident, inquisitive, and capable learners. The nursery is structured with three distinct classrooms—Pooh Bear, Roo, and Tigger—designed to facilitate strong bonds among peers.

Chantry House Nursery operates for 51 weeks annually, closing only between Christmas Eve and the New Year, and provides a range of session times, including morning, afternoon, school day, and full day options from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The support in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is strong. The manager and staff act quickly and work well with external professionals and parents to get children the support they require. This helps children with SEND to make good progress.

Outdoor space

Children are eager to go outside, and older children independently put on their coats. Siblings delight at being able to play together in the garden. Children enjoy playing, creating stories, and confidently climbing equipment, which promotes their small- and large-muscle development.

This nursery is fantastic. My son's attended here for a year now and they are great with him. He has extra needs and not only do they help him they alter things to keep him involved. Highly recommend!

I can’t tell you about the actual nursery as I never got that far however as their organisational skills are horrific. Arrived for my 2pm appointment to be shown around and was told they weren’t ready for me. They wanted me to wait outside in the cold with my 10month old for ages! Never once got an apology and when I asked if I could book another time to come back they wanted me to wait until the following week - I’d already waited over a week for this appointment. If I’m honest just how unorganised and rude they were is a complete turn off, definitely won’t be wasting my with them in the future.
