About this day nursery

Teddy Wilf's @ The Westgate, located in Chichester, is an outstanding childcare setting registered with Ofsted in 2014, operating from the Westgate Leisure Centre. The day nursery provides full-day care for children aged 0 to 4, with a total of 27 places and 31 children currently on roll.

The dedicated team of 10 staff, including a manager with early years professional status and eight other level 3 qualified professionals, are deeply committed to fostering every child's development. The setting prides itself on its passionate approach, using additional funding to create programmes that promote children's physical and emotional well-being, covering essential topics like oral health and road safety.

Children are encouraged to form meaningful friendships and engage in imaginative play, supported by staff who skillfully extend their learning. The day nursery also excels in communication, with staff using various aids like picture symbols and sign language to help all children express themselves, fostering strong bonds.

Furthermore, children are given excellent opportunities to learn about their bodies and healthy habits through engaging and sequenced activities, ensuring they grow up healthy and strong. The provider receives government funding for eligible children, and the setting is open 50 weeks a year, closing for two weeks over Christmas, with sessions running from 8am to 6pm.
