Our ethos

At Christopher Robin, our curriculum is built around offering your child a playful, nurturing and supportive learning environment that mirrors their interests and captures their fascinations. We always start with what your child knows and what they can do and build on this foundation to develop an individual learning experience that enhances all aspects of their development. Our pedagogy, the way we teach and plan learning experiences, is built around our knowledge and experience of how children develop and learn, and we have chosen to follow the ethos of the Montessori approach to early years care and education because we firmly believe that it offers children the very best start in life. Our approach is “can do”! Through child initiated and teacher led learning our environments meet your child’s needs and challenge them to independently seek out and explore their world, firing their curiosities enabling them to be bright, bold, and well prepared for life and learning.

We couldn’t be happier with Christopher Robin Day Nursery - London Road in Guildford. The care, dedication and commitment from the staff are truly outstanding. The teachers feel like part of the family, and our daughter speaks about them every day with so much affection. The warmth, reassurance and genuine connection they have built with her is a real testament to the quality of care. The nursery itself is fantastic — always clean, with a great no-shoes policy that creates a safe and hygienic space for children to play freely. The food is excellent, and the focus on both emotional and physical development is clear to see. From learning and counting to building friendships and confidence, the support is exceptional. Choosing a nursery for your first child is a huge decision, and we are so grateful we chose Christopher Robin. We are now in our second year there and couldn’t recommend it more highly.

My daughter is currently in the pre-school after going through baby and toddler rooms, and my son is in reception now. My daughter has truly been thriving in every room, the staff is supportive and caring, and they really helped her with all the transitions. She has been in preschool for about 2 months now and she loves it. My son is in reception and he was lucky enough to go with lots of friends from the nursery and they were all very well prepared for school. The move to school was so smooth, he took it in a stride. I really can't find any faults with the nursery, I'm so happy my children got to attend it and make great friends along the way.

An absolutely brilliant, wonderful, and nurturing nursery. Both of my daughters have attended, and the experience has been nothing short of incredible. The care, warmth, and attention they receive every single day gives me complete peace of mind as a parent. The staff genuinely go above and beyond to create a safe, stimulating environment where children thrive. I could not recommend Christopher Robin enough to any parent looking for outstanding early years care.

I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for an exceptional care for their little one in the Guildford area. All the staff are amazing and my son has formed lovely bonds with all his teachers but especially Lucia He loves talking about his day and what he has learnt/ done. It always sounds very interesting and exciting. I really couldn’t have found a better nursery for him and we will both miss nursery when he starts big school in September. However I know he will do well at school thanks to his amazing start at ‘Christmas Robin’ as he calls it! So a big thank you to Sophia and all her lovely team.

My Daughter has been going to Christopher Robin London Road since she was 4 months old, and the staff have been absolutely amazing. It was such a worry sending her from such a young age, but they have always worked with me to ensure that she settled, and have never forced any routine on her, and have followed her pace, especially when she was tiny. The nursery is like a second home to her and she has reached all of her milestones early and genuinely loves going. When we pull up in the car park she gets so excited and cannot wait to go inside. The majority of the staff have worked there for a long time, and it has a real family atmosphere. I have 4 children but this is the first time I have used this nursery and I can honestly say that it has been the most positive experience. They do not just "look after" your child whilst you work; the staff genuinely care, and I would have no hesitation recommending the nursery to other parents.
