Corner House Nursery Audley Road, part of the wider Thrive Childcare network, focuses on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. They emphasise a child-centred approach to early years care and education, adhering to the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The nursery promotes learning through play, utilising a wide range of resources, including naturalistic materials and outdoor equipment to encourage free-flow and child-led learning. They prioritise physical development, aiming for children to be active for at least three hours daily, and offer unique experiences like Forest School sessions.
The curriculum also integrates music, dance, creative arts, language development, and story time to foster holistic growth. Furthermore, children are encouraged to participate in cooking and baking activities, promoting an understanding of healthy eating.
The nursery also focuses on wellbeing, incorporating activities that stimulate learning and benefit mental health, such as mini-farms, nursery pets, or visits from animals. To keep parents engaged, Corner House Nursery provides access to e-learning journals via the ParentZone app, allowing them to track their child's development and daily activities.
They also maintain strong parent relationships through regular newsletters and parent evenings. Special events like graduation ceremonies mark key milestones in the children's journey through the nursery.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational need and/or disabilities (SEND) make excellent progress. The nursery implements highly effective early intervention strategies, such as 'first concern' reports, which are recorded and shared with parents when staff notice emerging needs. The nursery has excellent links with their local health visitor, and two-year progress checks are coherently planned to be coordinated between parents, health visitors, and the nursery.
All children share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area. Children conduct their own health and safety inspections of the nursery garden to ensure there are no hazards.
My little one goes here and it's a brilliant nursery, you can see they are slowly updating it since trive took over and I would recommend to anyone in the local area after a nursery
