About this day nursery

Corner House Nursery Trafford Park is part of the Thrive Childcare family, offering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in Manchester. The nursery's approach integrates the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework with hands-on learning experiences, fostering crucial skills for children's development.

They advocate for child-led learning and free-flow play, especially utilising their outdoor equipment and woodland gardens for Forest School sessions. The curriculum is enriched with activities like music, dance, creative arts, and even cooking, promoting a holistic development in children.

Daily routines emphasise physical activity for at least three hours, guided by Physical Development Champions. The nursery also focuses on children's wellbeing, incorporating activities that stimulate learning and benefit mental health, such as mini farms or visits from animals.

Parents are kept engaged through e-learning journals via the ParentZone app, newsletters, and parent evenings, ensuring they are well-informed about their child's progress and nursery activities. Corner House Nursery Trafford Park celebrates children's milestones, including a graduation ceremony for those transitioning to primary school, and encourages participation in fundraising activities to teach children about helping others.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The support in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is strong. Leaders and staff know how to support children's learning and care needs. They monitor interventions closely to ensure that children with SEND make good and better progress.

Outdoor space

Toddlers develop their small-muscle skills as they pick up leaves, using tweezers. They excitedly notice an ant outdoors while digging in the soil. Outdoors, older children practise taking turns and develop their spatial awareness as they engage in ring games.

Amazing nursery right from the go ahead. Can not thank Alison and the team in the babies room of how they welcomed my son. Alison, in particular is a real gem and would do anything to make him feel comfortable and what was best for him. Can not fault any of the fantastic staff including the cook who makes incredible and nutritious meals for all to enjoy. Highly recommended!

Amazing nursery my son has been in since he was 7 months and loves it. The staff are all lovely and it just makes it easier when I have to leave him to go to work.
