Victoria Road Private Day Nursery is a well-established, family-operated childcare facility with over two decades of experience, proudly serving families from Stretford, Chorlton, Urmston, Davyhulme, Flixton, Carrington, Sale, and other areas within Trafford, Greater Manchester. The nursery operates with a philosophy that play should be enjoyable, engaging, and meaningful, fostering confident and effective learners.
Their core mission is to cultivate a lifelong love of learning through an environment rich in enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. A distinctive feature is their extensive outdoor play area, considered one of the largest in the vicinity, where children are encouraged to explore and develop.
They spend a significant portion of each day outdoors, supporting comprehensive physical, emotional, and cognitive development. The nursery adopts an individualised approach, recognising each child as unique and providing a safe, loving, and stimulating setting where children feel happy and valued.
Each child benefits from a dedicated key person and an experienced nursery team, promoting independence, choice, and confident self-expression. They emphasise strong partnerships with parents and carers to ensure a consistent and supportive learning journey for every child.
The nursery consistently receives high praise, including an "Outstanding" Ofsted report in 2021, and is registered with the National Day Nursery Association, collaborating with Trafford early years and other agencies. They follow the Birth to Five and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curricula.
The facility is spread across three levels; the ground floor houses three large baby rooms, including a sensory room with views of the babies' outdoor area, which is secure and monitored by CCTV. The kitchen, also on the ground floor, is where a qualified cook prepares fresh, home-cooked meals daily, emphasising a healthy diet with five portions of fruit and vegetables.
The toddler room on the second floor is a spacious and nurturing environment. The large outdoor area incorporates elements like a mud kitchen, maths area, nature area, and sand and water areas, many of which are created using recycled resources to teach children about recycling.
The nursery also offers specialised services such as school drop-offs and pick-ups for local schools and holiday clubs.
