About this day nursery

Victoria Road Private Day Nursery is a well-established, family-operated childcare facility with over two decades of experience, proudly serving families from Stretford, Chorlton, Urmston, Davyhulme, Flixton, Carrington, Sale, and other areas within Trafford, Greater Manchester. The nursery operates with a philosophy that play should be enjoyable, engaging, and meaningful, fostering confident and effective learners.

Their core mission is to cultivate a lifelong love of learning through an environment rich in enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. A distinctive feature is their extensive outdoor play area, considered one of the largest in the vicinity, where children are encouraged to explore and develop.

They spend a significant portion of each day outdoors, supporting comprehensive physical, emotional, and cognitive development. The nursery adopts an individualised approach, recognising each child as unique and providing a safe, loving, and stimulating setting where children feel happy and valued.

Each child benefits from a dedicated key person and an experienced nursery team, promoting independence, choice, and confident self-expression. They emphasise strong partnerships with parents and carers to ensure a consistent and supportive learning journey for every child.

The nursery consistently receives high praise, including an "Outstanding" Ofsted report in 2021, and is registered with the National Day Nursery Association, collaborating with Trafford early years and other agencies. They follow the Birth to Five and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curricula.

The facility is spread across three levels; the ground floor houses three large baby rooms, including a sensory room with views of the babies' outdoor area, which is secure and monitored by CCTV. The kitchen, also on the ground floor, is where a qualified cook prepares fresh, home-cooked meals daily, emphasising a healthy diet with five portions of fruit and vegetables.

The toddler room on the second floor is a spacious and nurturing environment. The large outdoor area incorporates elements like a mud kitchen, maths area, nature area, and sand and water areas, many of which are created using recycled resources to teach children about recycling.

The nursery also offers specialised services such as school drop-offs and pick-ups for local schools and holiday clubs.

My child currently attends Victoria road day nursery and has done since she was 9 months old. Since starting at Victoria road she has thrived and hit all of her development milestones. She has recently moved to a different room and I cannot fault the staff members. The staff members at Victoria road are always there to support my little girl. They look after her well and she is always excited to go into nursery, I believe this is due to the way the staff take care of the children’s needs. I am kept updated daily on what she has been up to throughout the day, and any questions I have, the girls will gladly help. Wonderful, enthusiastic staff members. And lovely management at Victoria road, I would highly recommend this nursery!!

Our daughter has attended Victoria Road Day Nursery since she was a baby. She is now in the preschool room and we have another baby who will be starting Victoria Road next month. I highly recommend this nursery to others that are looking. The staff are friendly, caring and supportive towards the children and also their families. There is a diverse community at Victoria Road and we feel that it is a very inclusive environment. My daughter loves going each day and the communication throughout the week to show the broad range of activities to develop the children's learning is fantastic. I feel that the nursery is a safe place for my children to attend and the staff do an outstanding job protecting children and their families during this pandemic. I really feel my child is thriving at Victoria Road and we are looking forward to our youngest starting there soon. Well done to all the staff for their recent outstanding Ofsted report. Maintaining an outstanding grading like this is only achieved through the everyday hard work of the nursery team.

My little boy started Victoria Road nursery at the age of 2 in the toddler room, he is now 3 and moved up to the pre school room. Since my son started he has become more outgoing, very sociable and made lots of friends inside and out. The staff at Victoria Road nursery are amazing and so supportive, if I have any questions or concerns the staff are very helpful, my son really enjoys nursery and all the staff. I am kept up to date via the app on what my boy has done and all he's learnt, I cannot fault the staff and all their hard work they put in with every child. It is a great nursery :)

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was seven months. It has been exactly the right setting for her. A home from home with consistent staff who know the children well. Particularly impressed with the real world play and the way they employ new initiatives to keep the children engaged. Wholeheartedly recommend.

We have been more than happy with this nursery. They are happy and welcoming and the activities they do with the children are linked back to the EYFS. The children play out lots and my child has built some lovely relationships with the other children and the staff too!
