Daisychain Day Nursery, located in the picturesque rural village of Whitley near Melksham and Corsham, offers a nurturing environment for children. Established in 2006 and under the ownership of Fran and Tim since 2017, the nursery has undergone significant renovations.

It now features three expansive, brightly lit, open-plan units, a dedicated two-storey soft play area, an extensive garden for outdoor activities, a professional kitchen, and ample off-road parking. The nursery operates five days a week, 51 weeks a year, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, closing only for bank holidays and during the Christmas and New Year period.

Daisychain prides itself on its warm and friendly staff, who are passionate about providing high-quality childcare. The team is committed to fostering an exciting and supportive learning atmosphere where every child can reach their full potential.

They believe in the importance of children learning to interact in a social setting, making friends, sharing, taking turns, and developing respect for others, embracing both differences and similarities. The nursery emphasises traditional values, aiming for children to experience laughter, fun, healthy eating, and physical activity, believing that learning naturally follows from these elements.

A unique feature is their dedicated soft play area, which is a favourite among the children and offers a wide range of activities to promote physical well-being through obstacle courses, ball games, music, movement, and free play.

We ensure that each child is given the best possible start in life by receiving the highest level of personalised care whilst creating a rich learning environment where every child is given the challenge and support needed to achieve their full potential. We believe it is vital for children to become part of a social group outside of the home, whilst being at nursery they can make friends with whom they can learn and share, take turns and role model each other. We feel very strongly that children should respect each other and begin to understand that there will be differences and similarities between one another. We encourage children to express their feelings in a positive way, and to respect each other’s opinions.

What it's like

Leaders have designed an ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum that focuses on providing children with the knowledge and skills they need for their next stage of learning. Staff use their expertise well to help children build on what they know and can do. Leaders have high expectations for children's behaviour and staff implement consistent boundaries and routines, helping children to understand what is expected of them.
