About this early years setting

Neston Preschool Playgroup in Corsham, Wiltshire, provides care for children aged two to four. Registered with Ofsted in 1972, the playgroup is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm during term time. It also runs a breakfast club from 7.30am and an after-school club from 3.30pm to 6pm. Following an inspection in January 2025, Ofsted rated the provision as 'Good'.

The inspector found that the curriculum emphasises independence, social development and preparing children for school. Staff work with parents and other professionals to create tailored plans so that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress. Activities include climbing on the slide, cooking, and growing vegetables. The Ofsted report noted that children are happy, eager to take part, and build close relationships with staff.

What it's like

The pre-school places children's needs first and foremost; staff warmly welcome children, support new children to settle, and build close, nurturing relationships. The curriculum prioritises independence and social development, and staff make careful assessments and work with parents and other professionals to provide tailored support so all children, including those with SEND, make good progress.

Pricing & funding

Fees are charged on an hourly basis, with an additional daily fee applied for snacks. The nursery supports a wide range of workplace voucher schemes and accepts university childcare grants.
