About this day nursery

Daydream Nursery, established in 2001, operates from non-domestic premises in Woking, offering childcare for children aged 0-17 years. Open Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm, for 51 weeks of the year, it provides an all-year setting for families.

The nursery received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 21/11/2022. Children at Daydream Nursery develop strong relationships with staff, who are noted for being caring and quickly getting to know new children.

The nursery places a strong focus on igniting children's natural curiosity and imagination, encouraging open-ended play with everyday objects. Staff provide interesting and exciting activities based on children's learning needs, adeptly promoting communication and language development.

For example, older children engage in descriptive language games, while younger children eagerly participate in story time. Mealtimes are sociable, where children and staff enjoy freshly cooked, nutritious food and learn about hygiene.

Daily checks of both indoor and outdoor environments ensure children's safety and welfare. While support for children who speak English as an additional language is noted as inconsistent, the nursery works to enhance opportunities for children to use their home language.

The management team maintains a hands-on approach, fostering staff well-being and professional development through regular meetings and training. Parents appreciate the staff's attentiveness and the anecdotes shared at the end of the day, reflecting the strong bonds formed.

Although the nursery aims to further extend partnership working by sharing more ideas with parents to support home learning, overall, parents comment that their children are settled and happy.

My daughter has been at Daydreams for over a year now and she absolutely loves it. The staff couldn’t be more kind, supportive and nurturing if they tried. I feel that they genuinely care about, and become invested in, the children. The nursery itself is a lovely, homely building with lots of toys and activities to stimulate the children as they grow and learn and it has a fantastic huge garden space for them to play in outside. Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with the nursery and feel very fortunate to have it on my doorstep. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a ‘home from home’ environment.

Both our son & daughter attend Daydream nursery and absolutely love it. All the staff are caring & professional. Our son gets sad if i pick him up early as he loves being there! Our daughter had to start at 9 months & settled in really well having previously only been breast fed to sleep. They got her napping, drinking from a bottle & eating from the first day. Our son goes to visit our daughter in the baby room & she gets excited to see him. The have both bonded with the staff really well. I would recommend anyone to send their children to Daydream. It has been a home from home for our children

I recommend this nursery for your child! I used to work her! I left because I wanted to moved higher in my career. This is a great place for the children, great outside area! Massive garden, where children love playing. Staff are lovely and really fun, and management have been there for 20 years. It is a home to home nursery, I think is a 39 space nursery and this is great as everyone knows all the children. Children are very happy!
