Daily outdoor play is integrated into the routine, with each age group benefiting from its own designated outdoor space. Furthermore, the nursery emphasises healthy eating habits by preparing fresh, nutritious meals on-site daily.

Ducklings Day Nursery is committed to supporting working parents with early opening hours from 7 am and offers child-led transitions to ensure a smooth progression through their early years.

Pricing & funding

Fees are payable monthly in advance and cover 51 weeks of the year. Standard fees include all meals, drinks, and snacks prepared on-site. For council-funded sessions, meals are not included and are billed separately.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported well by staff. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) ensures that she makes effective links with specialist professionals. This helps staff to plan the individual support needed for each child. Children with SEND learn well.

Outdoor space

When staff play hiding games in the garden with children, they count to five as each child runs to hide. Children learn that numbers are important and fun.

My little boy went to ducklings and graduated in 2022. He had the best start on his learning journey with the support of ducklings day nursery. Lucas was always happy and thrived when learning new things with his teachers. My little girl started ducklings nursery at 10 months old and is now 18 months old and has developed so much in every aspect. Ducklings nursery has shown a lot of love and compassion and I couldn’t recommend them enough ♥️

There aren’t enough nice words I could say about this nursery setting and the staff that work there! It’s so lovely and reassuring to be able to leave your child with people who you can tell genuinely love & are passionate about what they do and really care about your child as well. As well as the day to day care and learning they provide they always go above and and beyond with events, parties, themes always making it such a fun experience, my little girl can’t wait to go every day and i know she’s going to miss it when she leaves for school this year! Best decision we ever made!

Our daughter has been coming here for a year, and we are so glad that we chose this nursery. They are flexible with things like shift patterns and are really accommodating if you need to swap a day. They do so much for the children, there is always something new going on and the girls who work there love their jobs and you can tell, my little girl always talks about them very fondly and when I pick her up they are always really enthusiastic and attentive about what the children have done that day. I would recommend Ducklings to anyone it is a lovely nursery with a family atmosphere 😊.

Our daughter has just left here this week to go to big school. She absolutely loved ducklings and is sad to leave. It is a really homely nursery the staff are very caring and take the time to really get to know your child. They are also very good at teaching. My daughter knows all her numbers can write her own name and has good maths skills. I'm very pleased and impressed with ducklings and thoroughly recommend it.

Our children have absolutely loved going to Ducklings day nursery & we are sad to be having to leave. The staff were extremely caring & went above and beyond to ensure that Roman & Poppy settled in quickly and was happy. The family atmosphere that has been created is wonderful, our children were able to mix with a variety of different aged children. The children get to experience lots of outdoor play & a range of different crafts & well thought out ideas. The staff are also extremely caring and helpful with any worries or concerns you may have as a parent, offering helpful advice through many years of experience. Ducklings is flexible with hours changing and illness & sends videos & pictures of what your child is up to through the day which is lovely to see and reassuring. It truly is a wonderful place, where we have felt really grateful to be able to send our children.
