East Harptree Nursery, a charitable trust overseen by a volunteer committee, is dedicated to fostering the individual potential of every child. They aim to deliver outstanding early education and care in a nurturing and stimulating environment year-round, as well as offering term-time only places.
Operating from a renovated space within the East Harptree Village Hall complex since September 2022, the nursery is thoughtfully designed with underfloor heating and child-accessible areas. The setting features three distinct rooms catering to different age groups: babies (under 2s), toddlers (2-3 year olds), and preschoolers (3-4 year olds).
An exclusive outdoor play area, including a covered section, ensures usability in all seasons. Furthermore, the preschool children participate in Forest School sessions every Friday morning at Harptree Court.
The nursery prioritises building trusting relationships with both children and parents, recognising each child as unique and encouraging emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Their approach aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage principles, promoting active learning through play and celebrating diverse learning styles.
The nursery welcomes families from the surrounding areas for children aged six months to five years.

Inclusion & environment
Staff lead targeted programmes of support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and build their attention skills effectively. They liaise closely with parents and other professionals, helping children gain any extra support they need to close these gaps and reach their potential.
Staff have added a covered area outside to provide protection for children and enable them to be out in all weathers. Babies relish crawling around on the safe surfaces, and designated areas enable children to explore on trikes and scooters safely. Older children investigate with water outside, selecting resources independently, moving water around, mixing it with the sand and stones, also with leaves and flowers for imaginary potions. Older children enjoy forest school sessions in the local woodlands, developing their knowledge of the natural world very effectively.
Wonderful nursery in a lovely setting with a great atmosphere and fab staff
