Edith Rose Nurseries has over 30 years of experience providing childcare in both Ascot and Windsor. The nurseries are intentionally kept small to allow staff to provide focused attention to each child, supporting their individual development.
The curriculum is guided by the "Birth to Five Matters" framework, encouraging children to learn through their natural curiosity. Activities are tailored to each child's interests and learning needs, fostering confidence and independence.
The learning environments are designed to be stimulating, allowing children to explore and play both independently and collaboratively, with staff readily available to offer support. The nursery encourages children to think critically and solve problems by asking open-ended questions.
The core philosophy revolves around creating a fun and memorable experience for children.
Our ethos
To provide quality care in a safe and stimulating environment. To provide learning experiences and play with a purpose. To plan around the individual children’s interests and learning needs whilst giving others the opportunity to also benefit from them. To show consideration to the children as individuals, allowing them to develop independence and decision making at their own pace with the care and support of staff. To teach respect for our environment, property, animals and others. To help the children develop and establish good social skills, standards of behaviour and manners whilst learning to share with others and communicate effectively. To establish a love of learning and an enquiring mind. To communicate with and involve parents in nursery life. To help the children become resilient and confident.

Inclusion & environment
All children, regardless of any additional needs or individual challenges, receive the necessary support. Any gaps in children's development are swiftly identified and additional support sought. Staff adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, including for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, providing sensitive support to promote inclusion and participation.
Children have tremendous fun as staff provide unique opportunities for them to paint with their hands and feet. This includes splashing, spreading paint, and slipping around, which children enjoy pretending is ice skating. Leaders and staff ensure that children spend and enjoy time outdoors, where children excitedly chase each other on trikes, play in water and scoop spaghetti and lentils into pans.
I adore this nursery and all the staff who work there. I started using them in April 2018 for my then 3 year old and 17 month old. I visited numerous nurseries before Edith Rose. I was immediately struck by how calm and homely the nursery felt. It is much smaller than all the others I had seen and because of this it means all the children get to know all the staff and become one big family. My eldest son started school in September 2019 and the staff did an excellent job to prepare him for this. My youngest son still goes there and will continue to do so until he starts school this September. He has been through transition periods when first starting nursery and when his older brother stopped going, which meant there were tears at drop off, but his key worker has done amazingly to comfort and reassure him, checking in with me regularly to give updates. As a result he is now happy and settled. They encourage as much outdoor activity and learning as possible and arrange activities outside of the nursery such as walks to the park. They also promote play with natural materials to encourage creativity and learning. For extra reassurance, they use Nursery Cam so parents can check in on their children whilst they are at nursery. There are strict protocols in place with this to ensure access is limited to primary care givers and only on the days their children are at nursery. They also use Kinderly to provide updates, record milestone developments, and capture precious moments for parents to access via their online account at any time. Lastly, fees are the most competitive in the area, especially with the free funded hours offer. When I initially looked around at nurseries I was surprised by how complicated and expensive the fees could be even with the free funded hours. I had no idea there could still be such massive costs involved. Edith Rose provide a clear fee structure that is massively cheaper in comparison to others, which is surprising considering the level of care they provide! I would 100% recommend this nursery to any parent looking for this type of childcare.
