Little Acorns Montessori at Ascot has been enriching the lives of children and families since 1994, nestled in a serene rural setting while remaining easily accessible from Ascot, Windsor, and Bracknell. The nursery provides care for children from two years old up to school age, offering a nurturing environment that encourages gradual acclimatisation and increases in attendance over time.
It features two distinct rooms: the Little Oaks room for two-year-olds and the Mighty Oaks room for children aged three and above. The Little Oaks room provides a welcoming atmosphere with two indoor spaces and an outdoor messy garden, incorporating simplified Montessori materials and a variety of engaging activities to stimulate curiosity and sensory learning.
The Mighty Oaks room is a bright and expansive hall, fostering imagination and creativity through Montessori-inspired areas for focused learning, mark-making, crafts, small-world play, and role-playing. Both rooms emphasise hands-on experiences to build independence, confidence, and a lifelong passion for learning.
The curriculum includes diverse activities such as storytelling, singing, dancing, messy play, crafts, and physical activities both indoors and outdoors. A large outdoor play area with a pirate ship climbing frame, sand and water play, a mud kitchen, and a planting area further enhances the children's daily exploration and physical development.
The nursery focuses on supporting key developmental areas including social and emotional growth, communication, language, and physical development, ensuring a smooth transition for children moving between rooms.

Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress in their learning based on their starting points.
Children have regular access to the outdoor areas, where they run, kick balls, use the climbing equipment and carefully balance on beams. They excitedly engage in water and sand play and use watering cans and gardening tools to pour, fill and empty containers, which helps to develop children's balance and coordination.
Outstanding preschool. My son is extremely happy and well taken care off. He literally skips into school with the biggest smile on his face. The staff have such a nurturing and loving approach towards the children and have always had an open door policy with the parents. I highly recommend this preschool to each and every parent, love this place! Xx
Read on GoogleMy son has been attending Little Acorns since Nov 2019 when he turned 2. He had attended another local nursery previously that we had no major problem with - moved as Little Acorns is closer to our home. We are so glad we did. Since joining, our son has been a different person, extremely outgoing and seems to have really found himself. We attribute this to the warm, nurturing environment of Little Acorns and the wonderful staff here. It is not a 'bells and whistles' high-tech nursery - you need to provide a packed lunch, for example, and you won't get daily updates and photos as with some others. But I see this as a good thing: the staff are not focused on screens even a tiny bit, they are focused on your children :) Other pros: Michelle who runs this branch of Little Acorns is absolutely fantastic. Extremely experienced, she is clearly utterly devoted to the smooth running of the pre-school, as evidenced by her commitment to supporting all children throughout the lock-down (supplying us with at-home activities and supporting the strengthening of our community even when we were in isolation). Shout out also to our son's key worker Miss Georgia, and room leader Miss Rachel who are both absolutely fantastic, always cheery and have been instrumental in enabling our son to return to a post-lockdown environment (with all the government-required safety measures, which could seem daunting to him) with ease and excitement. Cannot recommend the nursery and its staff highly enough.
