About this day nursery

Thanet Early Years Project (TEYP) is a charitable organisation dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable childcare and education for children under five in areas of socio-economic deprivation within Thanet. 5 to 4 years, and now extending its care to younger age groups and offering longer operational hours.

The project operates three different nurseries located within local Children's Centres in Ramsgate. Explorers Nursery, along with Hand in Hand Nursery, caters to children from 3 months to 4 years, while Growing Together Nursery accepts children from 2 to 4 years.

As a not-for-profit organisation, TEYP is governed by a board of volunteer Trustees who delegate responsibilities to a Project Manager, ensuring continuous adaptation to current trends, legislation, and community needs, with a core aim of helping all children reach their full potential and improve their outcomes. TEYP also actively seeks external funding and financial support to keep fees as low as possible for families.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children are making good progress, particularly with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Staff have strong bonds with children, understand their needs, and comfort them when emotional or unable to communicate. Staff work closely with external agencies to further support children's development and close gaps.

Outdoor space

Children have plenty of opportunities to make marks and practise their early writing skills using chalks in the garden. They have regular access to the outdoor space and use this to run, climb, kick balls and use ride-along toys, managing their coordination to create obstacle challenges.
