Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is very good. The very able special educational needs coordinator uses her wealth of knowledge to secure support from external agencies. Staff observe and learn skills, such as basic physiotherapy and speech therapy strategies, from visiting external professionals.

Outdoor space

Older children find their wellington boots before visiting the garden. Daily checks of the rooms and garden are conducted to remove any hazards.

At first, you think “wow” when they show you around, and share the provisions for the children, outdoor space, lots of free play.. my daughter got on really well in the tots room - never had issues. My daughter’s space was funded by the council, which they had no issues with. But as soon as this funding came to the end, and she moved to 2 year funding - they said they didn’t have a place for her despite me saying that I would pay an additional top up, apparently this isn’t feasible and they wanted the space to be filled with someone who could use their nursery full time. I was met very rudely by Bev, who asked questions that were irrelevant “are you working” “when are you starting work” despite knowing the challenges my family have faced this year alone. My daughter had started potty training, and was doing amazing! Had 1 or 2 accidents at home the first couple of days & then was dry. We were going out on outings on the bus, and she would have no accidents, she went to the zoo all day with a friend & no accidents. However at first class nursery she was having and continued until the day she left to have 4+ accidents a day & not a lot recorded on her diary only 1 accident recorded or literally none, and I had to guess how many by the bags of clothes in her rucksack. I was then also pulled in for a chat with management - asking me what signs my daughter had showed that she was potty trained.. also learning that my daughter doesn’t communicate her needs in nursery, (she can communicate clearly at home) which was another shocking thing to hear, since she had been going since before she was 2! In all, the staff support is poor. Management is poor, especially making me feel small! Would not recommend. Everyone has their own opinions, but I wouldn’t rate this nursery at all. My daughter has since started her new nursery, and had no accidents, and is much much happier.

Appalling! How can we trust this nursery to look after our children when they have no reasonable explanation nor any procedure followed when a 2 year old child in their care has had all of their front hair cut??!! This is a safeguarding issue where they’ve tried to brush it under the carpet and still no explanation! It is traumatising for a 2 year old which cannot verbally explain what has happened to her! Absolutely disgusting and worrying that this nursery is still opened! CLOSE IT DOWN!!! In response to the nursery’s response: they exactly know what has happened and which child we are referring to - this story and true and can be verified as we have proof of the child’s hair as well as back and forth email exchange with the nursery. They have taken the time to try and take comments down as other parents that have other terrible stories when they’ve put their child in that nursery have approached me. Mother and child have been left traumatised by this experience and are now taking legal actions as well as having informed Ofsyed which is NOT closed down as they are still investigating. This nursery is untrustworthy and have some serious safeguarding issues! BE AWARE!

Rang to enquire for a place for my daughter like they messaged me to do, as soon as the lady on the other end of the phone realised my daughter maybe has autism/ADHD she changed her attitude towards me and started asking unwanted questions like a tick list like my child isn't good enough to attend her nursery. She even started calling me Lisa after I answered all her unwanted questions.I won't be contacting here again or recommending anyone else who has children with additional needs to do so either.

Both of my children have attended here from baby room right though to preschool. From day 1 they have shown a personal touch and understood our children's needs. This was shown to the personalised and gentle approach to settling in,flexibility when any extra days or hours needed. Not only do they have a personal touch with the children, this extends to the family too, especially Miss Jo and Miss Vicky. Both of my children have loved every minute here and we are so pleased of how they have progressed during their time here.
