Freedom Day Care Nursery in Dunmow provides year-round care for children aged from birth to four years. It is open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm. The day nursery was rated Good by Ofsted in July 2023. The inspector noted that children happily arrive at the day nursery and that partnerships with parents are strong. Parents told the inspector that their children have flourished since attending and that staff are happy and helpful.
The inspector found the curriculum to be broad, with good quality teaching. Babies are cared for in a bright, cosy room where their individual routines are respected. The nursery is inclusive and supports all children to make good progress, including those who need additional support. Children use an outdoor area with climbing equipment, where activities include sensory play and drawing with large chalks. The Ofsted report describes children as confident and as good communicators.

The special educational needs coordinator is knowledgeable and experienced and positive relationships have been established with outside agencies to ensure that all children reach their full potential.
Outdoor space
Children relish their time outdoors. They have ample space to run, climb and balance on the equipment provided and make patterns in cornflour sensory activities and use large chalks to draw outdoors.

This nursery is amazing, my little boy loved it so much. The staff are lovely, always keep you updated on his day and are so loving towards the children it’s obvious to see! I am so happy I sent my little boy here, he has now left for Reception but I will be sending my daughter there too!
