Goldingham Drive Community Pre-school, established in 2010 after a change of ownership from a preschool dating back to 1973, is an inclusive early years setting dedicated to providing a diverse and stimulating environment for children aged 2 years to rising 5s. Located in Goldingham Hall with access to a fenced play area, the preschool is conveniently close to John Ray Infant School, facilitating a smooth transition for children moving on to primary education.

The facility offers easy accessibility and on-site parking. The curriculum is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, encouraging children to develop valuable life skills through play.

Each child is assigned a key person who collaborates with families to support individual needs. The preschool prides itself on its highly trained staff, boasting over 40 years of combined childcare experience, with continuous professional development.

The team includes four trained Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators and an Equality Named Co-ordinator, utilising Makaton and visual supports daily. They have expertise in supporting children with various needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, medical conditions, allergies, early language development, and behaviour management.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The manager and staff provide an inclusive setting where all children's individual learning experiences are important and recognised. Key staff know the children well and plan activities and learning experiences to support them in achieving their learning goals. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Children love the outdoor learning space where they can run and jump, dig in the sandpit for treasure or paint a picture of their choice. Children learn how to prepare themselves to dress appropriately for the weather each day.
