About this day nursery

Grace's Day Nursery aims to cultivate an environment where children can develop confidence, curiosity, and imagination, fostering growth through a dedicated team and strong parent partnerships. The nursery prioritises placing children at the heart of all decisions.

They offer two main locations: Grace’s Ruxley, which was their first nursery opened in 2011, and Grace’s Nursery House. Grace's Ruxley operates from two buildings: Little Grace's for children aged 3 months to 2 years, and the Manor House for children over 2.

This setup allows younger children to acclimate to nursery life in a calmer setting before transitioning. The nursery boasts spacious outdoor areas, a soft playroom, and facilities designed to create a home-like atmosphere.

They emphasise healthy eating with freshly prepared meals daily, working closely with the Early Years Nutrition Partnership. Grace's Day Nursery also focuses on providing a stimulating environment, including Forest School experiences, and actively engages with children's learning by celebrating events such as World Book Day and Chinese New Year.

Our ethos

We believe in creating a nursery that inspires confidence, curiosity and imagination, helping children to grow with a valued team and parents as partners. It is important to us that, together with our team, we are always placing the children at the heart of all our decisions.

What it's like

Children of all ages and abilities are settled, confident and very happy at the warm and inviting setting. They are eager to join in with the challenging activities that staff carefully plan for them, such as using real tools to make wooden necklaces or exploring their senses with different scented play dough. Children enjoy exploring the natural world, from watering and growing healthy produce to pond-dipping for newts and frog spawn, promoting a good understanding of healthy lifestyles.

We have been so impressed with the whole team at Grace's from the first tour 18 months ago, until now (6 months into our son's time at Little Grace's). The settling in process was very well managed and reassuring, and we know he is so happy at nursery. Its obvious that he loves all the staff, and that the feeling is mutual too. Grateful for everything they do.

Our eldest finished at graces nursery house this year. Couldn’t have been more happy with everything the team did for her whilst she was there getting her ready for school. Always helpful, great having updates via the app each day. Lots of social events throughout the year as well to involve parents. Thank you for everything you did for us.

Grace's Day Nursery has been amazing with both my children, they are both thriving in nursery and cannot wait to go in each day. They provide home cooked meals every day, have a great garden and have an on-site forest school which my oldest has been really enjoying. We also get daily updates with photos and observations with what the children have been up to with their online app. The nursery provides great support to me as a parent and the staff are particularly knowledgeable when it comes to issues at home that I have asked for advice with e.g. potty training, terrible twos. The staff are always so happy and welcoming and you can tell they are really passionate about their jobs. Thank you Graces for doing such a fantastic job!
