Great Expectations Pre-School, established in 2005, is a well-regarded childcare setting in Middlesbrough catering to children aged 0-4 years. Open all year round from 7:30 am to 6 pm, the nursery provides a nurturing and caring environment where children are happy and settled.
Staff warmly welcome children, especially those who may be a little upset when their parents leave, ensuring they feel safe and secure. The dedicated team supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities exceptionally well, utilising additional funding to provide one-to-one support and working closely with other professionals.
The nursery’s curriculum is designed in close collaboration with parents, drawing on detailed information about each child's development and home life to extend their experiences, knowledge, and understanding. This includes engaging with parents to help children learn about diverse festivals and cultures in the local area.
The management team has recently enhanced the play environment, providing more space and better access to resources. Staff are committed to ensuring all children, including those learning English as an additional language, achieve their full potential, using interpreters and electronic translators to facilitate communication with families.
The nursery also fosters a love of books, with staff being skilled storytellers who engage children enthusiastically.
