Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

This helps to ensure every child has the best possible start in their education and no child is at a disadvantage when they move on, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The provision for children with SEND and those with potentially disadvantaged backgrounds is exceptional. Staff use their thorough understanding of child development to quickly identify areas of delay in children's learning. They swiftly make referrals to other professionals to access support and create specific target plans. Children benefit from one-to-one time with the special educational needs coordinator. She has a detailed knowledge of every child's support plan and works closely with staff to help them support children.

Outdoor space

Staff teach children through their play and exploration indoors and outdoors. They carefully plan experiences for children to access independently and use every opportunity to maximise their learning. For example, older children draw shapes outside and have treasure hunts.

Good with the kids I will say that but if you have any disability and accessible needs don’t expect much, staff as well as parents use the only 2 disabled spaces with no regard to those who need them. I spoke to staff over and over about possibly sending an email to parents to please be mindful and considerate to those of us who need those spaces as there’s a reason they’re there and you would think it’s a delight to be disabled. For one of the managers to then shout at me in front of all the parents because I was talking calmly to a member of staff as to why those spaces are important to someone like me, shouting “there’s nothing we can do” when I mentioned reporting it to the council she shouted at me again saying there’s nothing they can do either when in fact the car park is owned by the council as the council had already informed me of this. Because of this I no longer picked my granddaughter up which made it so much harder for my daughter. The level of disrespect towards members of the disabled community was ridiculous. We will be looking for an accessible nursery from here.
