Inclusion & environment
The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Overall, staff deploy themselves well in the outdoor area, extending activities and encouraging children to understand how to respect their environment. Children enjoy riding bikes and using the slope. However, the limited and crowded space sometimes hinders children's ability to fully benefit from learning opportunities and maintain focus. A recently revamped unused garden area now offers a specific space for planting, aiming to deepen children's understanding of planting and growing, and also serves as an outdoor break area for staff.
I can’t praise Guinea Lane Nursery and it’s staff enough. My son attended for 9 months once the nurseries reopened in 2020, and he always had a great time. He loved the staff and created wonderful bonds with them. They really engage in fun activities and really helped my son grow in confidence. The nursery itself is immaculately clean, organised and they prepare fresh food everyday which provides a really varied and delicious range which also helped my son try different things. The daily reports are great and their overall communication and support throughout the pandemic was faultless. Great nursery all around, would highly recommend. XX
Read on GoogleMy eldest attended Guinea Lane until summer 2017, she absolutely thrived. The staff were incredibly attentive, formed individual relationships with the children, and provided excellent quality of care. They do lots of group activities, and they get to take part in things that they may not have the ability to do at home. My daughter always had lots of fun and rarely wanted to leave. They did a fabulous job of encouraging friendships between the children, and preparing them for the transition to school. I never felt worried about leaving her there, which is something I’d felt when visiting other nurseries prior to starting at Guinea Lane. My other daughter has just started at Guinea Lane, and although some of the management has changed, I am more confident than ever that she will be just as happy as her sister was. They are a wonderful bunch that make the settling process as comfortable as possible. She is so excited when we reach the gate. I wouldn’t send my children anywhere else.
