About this day nursery

Habla Bilingual Day Nursery, established in Upton, Wirral in 2017 and expanded to Formby in Summer 2021, is dedicated to fostering a safe, secure, and joyful learning environment where children can reach their full potential. The nursery prides itself on its stimulating, bilingual approach, encouraging children to explore the world through play and interaction with highly qualified Spanish and English-speaking practitioners.

Habla emphasises the importance of play as a child's primary work, enabling them to develop cooperation, express emotions, use their imagination, and build strong communication skills. The curriculum is designed to enhance language acquisition, physical development, and creative thinking.

Meals are prepared fresh on-site with a two-week rolling menu, catering to dietary requirements and introducing diverse dishes, including Spanish specialities, all in line with the Children’s Food Trust Eat Better, Start Better Programme. The team boasts experienced educators, including a manager with extensive early years expertise and a deputy manager with a Level 4 SENCO accreditation, all holding Paediatric First Aid training and committed to continuous professional development.

The nursery’s bilingual methodology, employing the one-person one-language (OPOL) system, allows children to naturally absorb Spanish and English, with staff monitoring progress to ensure proficiency in both languages. They believe early exposure to a second language offers significant cognitive, educational, and cultural advantages.
