Happy Bunnies Pre-school, located in Southampton, operates as a charity managed by a voluntary committee comprising parents and community members. Originally established on Bunnies Hill, the pre-school moved to its current premises on Viceroy Road in 2017.
Happy Bunnies offers high-quality care and education for children aged 2 to 4 years, focusing on sparking their interest, fostering learning and growth, and supporting their well-being in a positive, stimulating, and nurturing setting. Each child is assigned a key person who works closely with parents to ensure that the care and activities provided are tailored to the individual child's needs and interests. Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress from their starting points. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) has a good understanding of their role, has undertaken further training, and works effectively with other agencies to ensure children receive appropriate assistance at the earliest opportunity.
Staff provide a broad curriculum and an exciting environment, inside and outside, that is planned to meet the children's needs. For example, staff actively encourage children to explore wildlife in the garden. Children are inquisitive and handle snails sensitively, while being guided by the staff. Children's physical development is well supported. Staff provide a range of opportunities to enhance these skills, including the use of rockers and stepping stones outside. The management team and staff particularly focus on learning in the outdoor environment. They enhanced the garden area with sensory herbs and plants, helping children to develop their understanding of the world. They also used funds to create a permanent writing station outside.
All children, including those with English as an additional language, make good progress from their starting points.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We couldn’t be happier with the experience our daughter Olivia has had since starting preschool this year! From day one, the staff have been incredibly welcoming, caring, and attentive. Olivia looks forward to going every morning, and it’s been amazing to see how much she’s grown in confidence and curiosity. The learning environment is nurturing and engaging, and we truly feel that she is in great hands every day. A special thank you to Monika, Olivia’s key worker, for her kindness, patience, and the genuine care she shows every day — it has made a world of difference to our little one. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Happy Bunnies for everything you do, for the dedication, warmth, and support you show the children. We feel so grateful to be part of such a wonderful preschool community! Highly recommend this preschool to anyone looking for a safe and inspiring place for their little one to learn and grow 🌺
