Headstart Nursery in South Ockendon

About this day nursery

Headstart Nursery in South Ockendon provides care for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery is open all year round, from Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 7pm. At its inspection in November 2022, Ofsted rated the provision 'Good'. The inspector reported that children thrive in a nurturing and caring environment and that staff develop excellent partnerships with parents. Parents told the inspector that they would highly recommend the day nursery.

The curriculum is planned around children's interests and learning needs. Activities include time spent in the garden and trips into the wider community. Outside, babies can use soft-play equipment and a see-saw, while older children play on bicycles and learn to balance on tyres and obstacles. The Ofsted report noted that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive good care and education from knowledgeable staff who promptly implement strategies to support them.

Our ethos

Headstart Nursery's philosophy is to ensure children are happy, safe, and healthy while learning through play and individualised attention, partnering with parents to meet their unique needs.
