Quince Tree Day Nursery in South Ockendon provides care and education for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery is open from Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 7pm all year, with closures for bank holidays and one week at Christmas. It offers 15 and 30-hour funded childcare places for eligible children. The curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

In January 2024, Ofsted inspected the nursery and judged its overall effectiveness to be Outstanding. The report noted that children thrive in a welcoming and nurturing environment, forming secure attachments with staff. The inspector found that support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is exceptionally good. Children's own ideas and interests influence activities, and staff use skilled teaching to guide learning. Parents are reported to be well-informed and supported.

The biggest thank you to everyone at Quince Tree Nursery! My daughter has been at Quince Tree for over 2 years and is about to leave to start school. The staff are warm, welcoming, friendly and nurturing. She has made lovely bonds with the staff and friends and she was so happy to go in every day. I will have no doubt in recommending this nursery to everyone!

My husband and I can't fault the care given by the ladies at Quince Tree Nursery. They have been part of our live for so long now. Both our boys have been cared for the team of dedicated ladies for 4 and a half years each. It's our youngest last day today and it was a very emotional goodbye to them all. We have felt supported right from day 1, they helped us parents too as we were navigating the difficult world of SEN. They have so much experience and truly care about the children. We would recommend them to everyone. Thank you ladies xx

Couldn’t rate this high enough, they have been looking after our boy for a year and Karen, Penny and the girls have been excellent, reassuring and very professional, our son has developed massively in that year.The only reason we are sadly leaving is a move. I wish them all the best and can highly recommend this nursery!

This is the best nursery anyone can send their child to, my 2yr old was super shy & had major anxiety around strangers. She had a really bad experience at a previous nursery where on her first day, the staff took her off me & plonked her in hall to fend for herself. With Quince Tree the staff there went above and beyond to make my little one feel welcome, safe & comfortable. She settled in on her 1st day! The staff treat the children as If they are looking after their own. I could not recommend this nursery enough.

After my son spending over 2 and a half years at this nursery, I am incredibly sad to be leaving but we are moving out of the area. The staff have been fantastic with my son from day 1 and there has never been one day where he has not wanted to go to Quince Tree. The staff are so friendly and caring and I know my son is going to miss going here so much. Thank you for everything you have done and for ensuring my son is always so happy. Xxx
