Heirs and Graces Private Day Nursery, located in St Helens, has been a cornerstone of early childhood education for over two decades. Housed in the historic Old School House in Dentons Green, the nursery offers a secure, stimulating, and joyful space for children aged 0-5 to develop and flourish.
The nursery prides itself on being more than just a childcare provider; it is a place where every child is recognised, valued, and celebrated. Their mission is to deliver a warm, inclusive, and excellent early years experience that cherishes each child's unique qualities and establishes a foundation for a happy, self-assured future.
They are committed to kindness and care, learning through play, and forming strong partnerships with parents. The nursery strictly follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a play-based approach, promoting imagination, independence, and resilience.
Each space is thoughtfully designed with the child's well-being and development in mind, from the baby room to the pre-school. The dedicated team, many of whom hold Level 3 and higher qualifications, including those with Qualified Teacher Status, are passionate about making a positive impact on each child's life.
Heirs and Graces has received an "Ofsted Rated 'Good'" in February 2024, the NDNA "Platinum" Quality Counts award, and has been named a Top 20 Nursery in the North West. They are also recognised by St Helens Borough Council for their contribution to early years standards.

Inclusion & environment
Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is well embedded. The special educational needs and disability coordinator works closely with staff, parents and other professionals. She uses her knowledge and skills to swiftly implement targeted support for children. Children with SEND are consistently supported and make good progress.
When outdoors, the curriculum is less effective. Some activities lack a clear focus, which means that children lose interest quickly. This reduces children's engagement levels and learning experiences, particularly those children who prefer to learn outdoors. The provider should focus the curriculum for outdoors more sharply on what children need to learn next.
My daughter absolutely loves Heirs & Graces Nursery. Every morning she’s excited to go, and every afternoon she comes home happy and full of stories and smiles. The staff are truly amazing — kind, caring, and professional. They look after the children with so much love and patience, and it’s clear how passionate they are about helping each child feel safe, confident, and happy. The environment is warm, joyful, and full of positive energy — a place where children can learn, grow, and truly enjoy their day. A huge thank you to the whole Heirs & Graces team for creating such a wonderful nursery. You really make a difference in the children’s lives. 🌟
