Holly Grange Montessori Nursery, located in Lymm, Cheshire, has established a strong reputation for providing high-quality childcare and education, consistently achieving "outstanding" ratings from Ofsted. The nursery embraces the Montessori philosophy, which is centred on recognising and nurturing each child's individual learning style, allowing them to develop at their own pace without fear of making mistakes.
This approach aims to cultivate confident, courteous, and considerate young individuals. The nursery also places a significant emphasis on outdoor play, encouraging children to learn through hands-on, challenging experiences that foster resilience, self-esteem, creativity, and independence.
The ultimate goal is to prepare children not just for the next stage of their education but also to equip them with high levels of self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being as they transition to school. Founded by Managing Director Trudie Walker, who was inspired by her personal search for a nurturing and challenging early years environment for her own child, the nursery reflects her dedication and almost two decades of experience in early years education and Montessori teaching.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders have established strong links with external agencies that offer additional support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Ongoing training equips staff to deliver targeted interventions that promote each child's learning. Staff develop the expertise they need to accommodate children's individual needs. This inclusive, consistent approach enables all children to make positive progress from their starting points. They work closely with families, including those of children with SEND, to provide timely support and targeted interventions.
Children thoroughly enjoy their time in the garden. They relish the opportunities to explore the natural world, where they are encouraged to take risks safely. Staff complete thorough risk assessments and use these opportunities to teach children how to manage risks themselves. For example, when climbing trees, children are supported to set their own limits with close supervision. Following recent 'movement' training, all children now begin their day outdoors. This provides valuable opportunities for physical activity and exercise before moving into more focused learning.
After viewing many nursery’s and not feeling they were right for us and our son we then found Holly grange. We came for a show round I instantly knew that this nursey was the one. The staff are absolutely wonderful so professional, kind and caring I feel completely at ease every time at drop off. They have been so accommodating in settling our son, nothing is too much trouble. What sets this nursey apart from others is the Montessori activities, learning pathways and outside play ( this is the most important for us as our son loves being outdoors). This coupled with truly amazing professional staff is why we would highly recommended Holly Grange.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has been attending Holly Grange Montessori in Lymm for one and half years now. I can truly say (having three children) that this has been the best nursery I came across by far. My daughter loves attending, she’s very excited to go every week which speaks for it self. She always comes home happy, full of beans and with new experiernces to share. It’s a massive peace of mind to know how much she’s thriving whilst in care of others. I cannot praise the staff enough for their dedication, parental attitude and instincts towards the children. In the year and half of my daughter attending I cannot genuinely pick anything that I wasn’t happy with. Would recommend this wonderful nursery to anyone who’s values are happy, healthy, confident and thriving children and satisfied parents !! 😊💕
Read on GoogleRecently visited with a relative looking for childcare. Felt welcomed and reassured and was really impressed by the nurturing care and the independence on show for all of the children, even the younger children. All our questions were answered by the manager who was also lovely. Very beautiful outside area too.
