Horizons Day Nursery & Pre-School, established in September 2000 by a husband and wife team with extensive teaching backgrounds, is dedicated to providing exceptional childcare across its two locations. The nursery aims to cultivate a happy and supportive setting where children are encouraged to develop into responsible and caring individuals.
Each child is recognised for their uniqueness, and the environment values the diverse backgrounds of both children and staff. Early years practitioners collaborate with parents and guardians to facilitate learning through play, laying a strong foundation for children's school readiness.
The nursery is registered with Ofsted and adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, offering care for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Children are grouped into 'Babies' (0-2 years), 'Tots' (2-3 years), and 'Pre-School' (3-5 years), with each child assigned a Key Person to tailor care and development to individual needs.
The curriculum incorporates both indoor and outdoor play, emphasising environmental awareness and physical skill development in a secure and enjoyable atmosphere.

Inclusion & environment
Where there are concerns that a child may have special educational needs and/or disabilities, parents are quickly signposted to other agencies for support and assessment.
Children demonstrate growing strength and coordination as they crawl through tunnels and dive into the ball pool. On a trip to the shops with staff, they look at fruit and vegetables and describe enthusiastically how they grew tomatoes in the nursery garden.
I have to give a star because there is no option for a 0. This is by far ,the worst nursery I have visited. Firstly, their communication skills are poor. They would never return calls or emails. We had to wait for 30 minutes despite making a booking before going. To highlight, their manager is extremely rude and disrespectful. She is unprofessional and overly authoritative. Rather than being warm or comforting, she was stern and unapproachable towards kids and parents both. Instead of making the kids comfortable, she was controlling them in a very strict environment and suppressing their natural behaviour not even letting the children express themselves. A nursery environment should feel safe and nurturing but this was quite opposite. None of the staff looked happy. They were not smiling either. The vibe was very negative in there. The worst ever !
Read on GoogleI honestly can’t recommend this nursery enough! From day one, it’s just felt really friendly and welcoming which makes such a difference for both kids and the parents. The staff are amazing, kind, patient and you can tell they genuinely care about the children. They really get to know each child and support them in a way that feels personal. The space itself is always clean, bright and full of fun activities. My child absolutely loves going, which says everything really. They’re also great at keeping parents in the loop with updates and little bits of feedback, which I really appreciate. It’s such a relief knowing my child is happy, safe and well looked after.
Read on GoogleIt's in a really good location. I don't like the fact they've tried to copy the name Bright horizon. Nursery, but other than the inside, is fairly spacious. But not for the number of kids they have We ultimately chose a different nursery. Also, their communication skills is to be desired. Also, it would be great if they made it a little bit more welcoming and got rid of that awful gate on the front.
Read on GoogleTo all the mums that are out there, looking for a nursery. My 2.5 years-old daughter now spent the last 1Y3M at Horizons Day Nursery and I can only highly recommend it to all parents in the area. She goes 8am-6pm every day Mon-Fri and has always been provided with extremely good care. She has a very good bond with all the members of staff, other children as well and I regularly get to hear about the activities she's done over the day in the evenings by her. Yoga, dancing, reading, mark making, playing with sand, Spanish are only part of the activities they engage children with at this nursery on a daily basis. She's developed her cognitive skills fairly well for her age, counting to 20 and singing the alphabet these days. She's also toilet trained and a easily a full week goes by without any accidents. Overall I'm very happy with the engagement of the staff with the children, and all the above feedback is a result of that!
Read on GoogleHas made an appointment to review the nursery , when we got there, no one opened the door when I rang the bell, had to call again instead.when we got into the nursery, waited for 5mins then told by staff that no one knew we were coming , and the manager was not in, so I have to re-book another appointment , so pissed. I wouldn't sent my baby there as there is poor communication between the staff , poor arrangement. very disappointing.
