Bright Horizons operates more than 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, offering childcare solutions to families. Their philosophy, The Nurture Approach, focuses on fostering children's healthy development, happiness, and potential by integrating learning with emotional wellbeing.
They aim to provide a stimulating environment where children can thrive through dedicated care from skilled nursery practitioners. The organisation emphasises the importance of a smooth transition for children and families into nursery life, offering non-chargeable settling-in sessions that can start up to six weeks before the official start date.
During these sessions, parents are encouraged to stay initially, gradually leaving their child for short periods as the child becomes more comfortable. A 'Key Person' is assigned to each child to build a strong, trusting relationship with both the child and parents, ensuring a secure base for exploration, learning, and emotional development.
The day nursery values understanding each child's individual routines, preferences, and needs to provide personalised care and a positive start to their nursery experience.

Inclusion & environment
Children who need time to regulate can benefit from using the nursery's new sensory room. This provides a calming and supportive environment, helping children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to re-engage confidently in their learning.
Children enjoy playing in the role-play area and measuring water in the outdoor mud kitchen. This allows them to be immersed in imaginative play and develop problem-solving skills.
Came for a booked nursery tour at 9am - was told by the manager that despite my booking I couldn’t come in until 10am and to come back later. Had taken a morning off to attend this visit. Rude and unhelpful & definitely would not trust them to look after my child if this is how they treat people.
Read on GoogleExcellent nursery for babies to under threes which transitions to another site across the road as they get older. Longer hours than some, very sensible medication/sickness policy so you don't have to leave work at the drop of a hat, and my little one is very happy there.
