About this day nursery

I Learn Education Caistor focuses on a child-centred methodology, fostering independence and decision-making in children through their own choices and ideas. The nursery aims to prepare children not just academically, but also socially and emotionally for life, encouraging strong social skills, emotional resilience, personal care independence, and a natural curiosity for the world.

A key aspect of their philosophy is extensive outdoor play, which they believe promotes physical activity, reduces the risk of illness, and allows children to engage in adventurous play, learn from mistakes, and take appropriate risks. The nursery also promotes non-gender-specific play, challenging traditional stereotypes to provide a free and unbiased learning environment.

They offer flexible contracts and hours, aiming to accommodate a variety of family needs, and provide before and after school clubs, along with school drop-off and pick-up services. As an inclusive setting, they also offer funded places and holiday clubs, with all services overseen by fully qualified staff and registered with Ofsted.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well. They work with parents, other professionals and the local authority to identify how best to support children's individual needs, such as to help develop their speaking skills.

Outdoor space

Pre-school children are taken for forest sessions where they look for sticks to build a fire and solve problems when the sticks are too big. Occasionally, as children in the baby room play outside, they are not fully provided with opportunities to explore and investigate to support their learning.

EAL / language support

Children who speak English as an additional language are supported well to learn and understand English and to have a sense of belonging in the nursery. For example, staff use keywords in children's home language to communicate with them. They talk to children about their cultures and traditions at home.
