About this day nursery

Jack in the Box Preschool, established in 2005, is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive childcare within a nurturing and stimulating setting. Operating term-time only for six hours a day, the preschool caters to children aged two to four, offering both morning and afternoon sessions, with children bringing their own packed lunches for all-day or afternoon attendance.

The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring children engage in challenging and exciting experiences across all seven areas of learning. The preschool emphasises independent discovery and exploration in both indoor and outdoor environments, encouraging children to develop key skills, self-esteem, and confidence.

A healthy snack is provided in the mornings, and lunchtimes are a social occasion for both staff and children to discuss healthy eating. The dedicated and qualified staff team, all of whom are DBS approved and hold NVQ Level 3 or are working towards it, focus on individual learning journeys, with a key person assigned to each child to monitor progress and facilitate regular parent meetings.

Jack in the Box actively supports families with government funding options, prides itself on being an affordable childcare provider, and encourages early registration due to high demand.

Jack in the Box is an awesome pre-school. The arts and crafts that come home and so lovely. My two attend, one leaving for school in September. She is leaving happy, confident and loved by Jack in the box (her words the last one - quickly followed by snack time being the best!) The staff are all so wonderful and we know they all care about our children. We have to role play at home often, so we know what happens at story time, and how the adults communicate between the garden and playroom! 😀 Everyone is so friendly, warm and professional. We love Jack in the Box, the beach day is a day we really enjoyed. Jenny, Nicky, Jess, Sam, Sophie, Katie, Nichola are all so wonderful!
