Jack n Jill Pre-school in Ipswich focuses on providing a fun and vibrant learning environment for children aged two and above. Situated in the Stone Lodge Community Centre in Hawthorn Drive, the pre-school primarily serves families in Chantry and southwest Ipswich. It operates 50 weeks a year, closing only for the Christmas period and the August Bank Holiday week.

The facilities include a main hall, known as the Buddies Room, for 3 and 4-year-olds, and a separate room, Little Buds, dedicated to 2-year-olds. Both rooms are well-equipped with curriculum-based activities.

The pre-school also boasts a large outdoor area with a sandpit, soft-surface play area, and a mud kitchen, as well as a separate secluded outdoor space for 2-year-olds, promoting physical development.

Pricing & funding

Charges are based on flexible morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions. The nursery offers fixed session rates alongside a standard hourly rate, with optional add-ons for breakfast, lunch, and a light tea. Fees are billed in advance.

SEND provision

The inclusion of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is a particular strength of the nursery. Staff work collaboratively with parents and outside professionals, to identify specific support for children's individual needs, and appropriate plans are implemented to enable children to achieve their best possible outcomes.

Outdoor space

Children build resilience and strength as they test their physical limits on the various assault courses. They negotiate space incredibly well on pedal bicycles. Outdoor play is a big part of how staff promote healthy lifestyles.
