About this day nursery

Keren's Nursery provides a nurturing 'home away from home' environment for children across its four London locations: Hampstead Garden Suburb, Belsize Park, Holland Park, and Wimbledon. Established in 2004, the nursery prides itself on its family-style approach, fostering a secure and welcoming community for diverse families.

The philosophy centers on developing confident, independent, and resilient children, encouraging them to embrace their unique identities and cultures. The curriculum promotes a balance of learning, play, communication, and physical development, with a strong emphasis on outdoor activities, including regular Forest School sessions led by qualified leaders.

The children are exposed to various languages, and teachers learn key words in each child's primary language to aid understanding and integration. Additionally, the nursery offers a range of extra-curricular activities such as yoga, zumba, music, sports, woodwork, and cookery.

The staff are dedicated to continuous professional development, with all teachers qualified in the Moving Matters program. Keren's Nursery caters to children from 6 months up to rising 5 years, with age ranges varying slightly by branch.

Keren's Nursery is a truly special place. Over the past two years, Yael and the team have shown remarkable patience, understanding, and professionalism during a challenging period for our family. The nursery itself is warm, welcoming, and clearly run with genuine care for each child. The staff are nurturing and experienced, and it's evident that children thrive in their environment. Their approach to early years education balances structure with play, and the atmosphere feels welcoming, calm and purposeful. When circumstances changed for us, they remained understanding and supportive throughout, demonstrating the kind of integrity and kindness that you hope to find in a nursery setting. While we weren't ultimately able to take up a place due to family circumstances, I would wholeheartedly recommend Keren's to any parent looking for a high-quality, caring nursery environment in North London. The Ofsted Outstanding rating is well-deserved, Keren's is an excellent choice.

Our daughter joined at 11 months old and we have been thoroughly impressed from day one. The settling in process was seamless and the staff are absolutely wonderful - energetic, kind and attentive. We are truly delighted with the nursery. Our daughter’s days are filled with so much fun and happiness and we have complete confidence that she is safe, cared for and thriving. This gives us great peace of mind while she spends full days there. The nursery’s location is also a huge bonus as the children enjoy daily walks, getting plenty of fresh air and time outdoors which is important to us.

I have sent all 3 of my kids to Keren’s and I can honestly say it’s an amazing nursery (and I consider myself a tough judge with very high expectations). After our experience with our first child we made the decision to enrol our other two kids at Keren’s because we were so impressed despite it being logistically less convenient. It is hard to describe unless you experience it but the nursery has an extremely special ethos. Every individual is warm, kind and caring. They really focus on instilling confidence and resilience in children and deeply understand what is truly important on a foundational level for children for the long term. Every day there is something interesting at the school where the staff goes above and beyond. And I have observed this consistently over a 7-8 year period and even with changes in staff etc. Kol Hakavod for creating a wonderful school and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Our daughter spent two wonderful years at this nursery, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From day one, it was clear that this wasn’t just a place for childcare—it was a nurturing, caring, and truly loving environment. Over time, it became a second home for our daughter, and the staff felt like extended family. We are so grateful for everything this nursery has given our family and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely warm, enriching, and supportive environment for their child.

We’ve just signed up our third child (not yet born!) for Keren’s Nursery. The staff are wonderful. They keep the children educated and entertained with an ever-changing menu of activities.
