Inclusion & environment
Leaders ensure staff receive regular training to enable them to understand how to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and children with gaps in their learning. The setting has a dedicated special educational needs and/or disabilities coordinator who monitors children's development, identifies those needing additional support, and helps close developmental gaps. Additional funding is used to meet individual needs, including support for language development and communication using sign language.
Outdoor learning supports children's physical development, helps them build resilience and improves their overall wellbeing. Staff skilfully use the outdoors to develop children's creativity as they make faces with clay and understand these activities build strength in children's small muscles.
