What parents say

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff skilfully support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They adapt the way they communicate to support non-verbal children, for example using visual cues and Makaton. Managers and staff work effectively with parents and other professionals, such as the early years inclusion officers and specialist SEND settings, to ensure all children make good progress. A sensory room has been created which provides a calm space for children with SEND, and the forest garden is being developed to include a sensory area for additional support for children with SEND.

Outdoor space

Children are provided with many opportunities to develop their physical skills. They ably climb, balance and ride bicycles, and learn to take risks by setting up balancing courses with crates and climbing trees. A working group has been organised to plan and extend the main garden area and to encourage more learning to take place outside. The forest garden is also being developed to include a sensory area.

My daughter came to this nursery when we moving into the area just before her 2nd birthday, she has absolutely thrived. Each change of room as she has gotten older or change of staff is handle with care and efficiency meaning no disruption to how much our daughter loves coming. The food has always been fabulous my daughter tends to have seconds most days! We are incredibly pleased that our son has just got his place for 2025 as we are excited to see his journey at kindred Winterbourne earls.

Kindred Winterbourne is an amazing setting, the rooms are warm and welcoming, being a first time mum I looked at 5+ settings but after visiting here I knew this was where I wanted my daughter to be. From my initial tour with the Manager who was very welcoming and made me feel at ease, she was able to answer all my questions. Since my daughter has been at Winterbourne her speech and confidence has grown massively and she is becoming so confident. She happily goes in every day. The app is amazing and updates throughout the day so I know what she has been up to.
