Ladybird Nursery Chalfont is a state-of-the-art childcare facility that opened in December 2025, strategically located in Chalfont St Peter, appealing to local families and those commuting via the A40 and Gerrards Cross. This purpose-built nursery, previously an office, has undergone extensive renovation to offer an inspiring early years environment across two floors.

It can accommodate up to 70 children daily, ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. The ground floor houses the pre-school group (3-5 years) in a spacious open-plan area, while the first floor is dedicated to babies (3 months-2 years) and toddlers (2-3 years) in two separate, warm, bright, and homely rooms.

Each room is thoughtfully designed for specific developmental stages and furnished with high-quality items from Community Playthings. The nursery boasts full air conditioning, comprehensive security systems, and even an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for enhanced safety.

A unique feature is the bespoke sensory room, designed to stimulate children's senses through light, colour, texture, and sound. Ladybird Chalfont also provides two secure outdoor play areas; one for older children offering various physical and imaginative play opportunities, and a dedicated baby garden for the youngest to explore at their own pace.

Both areas have covered sections to ensure daily outdoor learning and play irrespective of weather conditions. The nursery strongly emphasises parent partnership, considering parents as their child's primary educators.

Pricing & funding

Fees are charged monthly for full-day bookings. Standard fees are all-inclusive of meals, nappies, wipes, formula, and extracurricular activities. Government-funded hours are offered on a stretched basis and are subject to additional charges for consumables and private hours.

Our son started at Ladybird Nursery Chalfont last month and it’s his very first nursery, so as parents we were naturally a little nervous. He was only 19 months when he began, but the team have been absolutely incredible from day one. They’ve gone out of their way to really get to know him, from making sure his favourite meals are prepared to playing his favourite song when he arrives in the morning. Those small, thoughtful touches have made such a big difference. He feels safe, seen and happy there, and now genuinely looks forward to going each day, which still amazes us. The care, patience and warmth from the whole team has made his transition into nursery life feel so gentle and positive. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience for him, and we’re so grateful for everything they do. We would highly recommend Ladybird Nursery Chalfont to any parent looking for a nurturing, attentive and genuinely caring environment for their child.
