About this day nursery

Laugh and Learn Day Nursery in Leeds offers a stimulating and comfortable setting, aiming to be a home away from home for children aged 3 months to 4 years. The nursery focuses on providing a nurturing and enjoyable environment where children can thrive and develop at their own pace.

Emphasising the importance of continuity in care and development, the nursery requires children to attend a minimum of two sessions or one full day per week. They are committed to delivering high standards of care, with a friendly and supportive staff team dedicated to helping children progress and settle in well.

The nursery also offers various promotions, including discounts for siblings and NHS staff, and a refer-a-friend scheme. With a comprehensive fee structure that includes meals in most sessions, Laugh and Learn strives to make quality childcare accessible and beneficial for both children and their families.

What it's like

The management team is committed to raising the quality of practice and education, working with the local authority and implementing professional development, though outcomes are still in their infancy. The manager is developing a sequenced curriculum, and staff are gaining confidence in implementing it, but inconsistencies in practice and interactions mean children's learning is not always sufficiently challenged, hindering their progress.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are offered additional help when their needs are identified. Adults leading the work with SEND children provide ongoing support to children and their key person, which has a positive impact. Staff also work with outside agencies and parents to put in place targeted plans of support.

Outdoor space

Children have daily opportunities to develop their physical skills. Older children enjoy riding balance bikes in the nursery garden, demonstrating very good control as they navigate their way around the area at speed. Additionally, children develop their hand-eye coordination as they skilfully throw balls into a basketball hoop.

Had to remove my child the ofsted report is really bad! My child has gotten numerous injuries to which some staff can’t explain, my child has been sent home with missing underwear to which again staff couldn’t explain. When reported to ofsted the owner then phoned police and reported false injuries to which was not documented. He’s added money on invoices on multiple occasions and when questioned blamed the app. Wouldn’t recommend at all!!!!

Having had no previous experience of childcare, I was very nervous about leaving my little one in the care of "strangers". I was worried about how he would cope and if he would be well looked after (every parent's nightmare I suppose). Fast forward 3 months and my little one is absolutely thriving! He is doing amazing and I am so so happy with the care he is receiving from staff! Since starting at the nursery he has developed many skills and become more independent! It is so lovely to watch him grow. The staff are very dedicated, caring and supportive.
