Lilliput Day Nursery Peterborough, registered in 2023, provides childcare for children aged 1 to 3 years in a childcare on non-domestic premises setting. 30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round (excluding bank holidays), the nursery offers a warm, friendly, and home-from-home environment for children and their families.

Areas to develop
- 1The provider and staff team plan the curriculum based on children's interests and topics. However, they do not have clear intent about what they want individual children to learn. While children enjoy the activities, these are not always appropriate learning. Therefore, children are not consistently benefiting from teaching that helps them make good progress.
- 2The provider works to identify children with SEND. They complete next steps in children's learning and share these with the parents. The staff team are kind and caring and they reassure children with cuddles throughout the day. However, the staff team do not consistently provide the support that children with SEND need to make the best progress. They let them, at times, remain at the same activity. Consequently, children appear bored. They sit on the floor or wander around the room without purpose.
- 3Staff are good role models. They encourage children to use their manners and share resources. Staff recognise and praise good behaviour. However, they do not consistently help children to understand the consequences of some of their actions and why they are being asked to stop. For example, when children throw an object, they are told 'no thank you' and not provided with an explanation. Therefore, children do not thoroughly understand the full expectations of their behaviour.

Would recommend this nursery to all family and friends. The staff are very attentive and caring towards children. My child loves going to nursery and has made lots of friends and come on leaps and bounds in all areas of development.
