Linskill Nursery is an Ofsted-registered facility catering to 80 children, operating within the larger Linskill Centre. This centre, managed by the Linskill and North Tyneside Community Development Trust, a registered charity, provides a wide array of activities and services for the local community.
The nursery is an integral part of this community hub, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that attracts over a quarter of a million visitors annually. The Trust, established in 2003, rescued the Linskill Centre from demolition and has since transformed it into a self-sustaining community facility through strategic investments and community businesses.
All profits generated are reinvested into the centre and its community initiatives, ensuring a continuous positive impact. In addition to the main Linskill Centre, the Trust also oversees satellite sites at Battle Hill Multi-Use Centre and Royal Quays Community Centre, extending its reach across North Tyneside.
The nursery benefits from this community-focused approach, being part of an organisation dedicated to fostering learning, engagement, and belonging within the local area, while also recruiting and developing staff for its ongoing growth.

Inclusion & environment
Staff provide strong support to children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. For instance, they have developed a sensory room to provide a calm space where children can relax.
Children benefit from daily access to fresh air and exercise. They enjoy rich opportunities to learn about nature, planting sunflowers and strawberries in the nursery's large polytunnel, digging in soil, smelling herbs, and searching for bugs in the nursery's enclosed garden. Outside, children navigate uneven surfaces in the nursery's wild garden, climb trees and balance in hammocks.
My little girl has been going to this nursery since 2019. The staff are lovely and very supportive. My little girl loves it and she has developed so much since she has been there. The nursery supports outdoor learning and development and has the older children taking part in Forest School which my little girl will love when she moves up to that group. I can’t sing there praises enough , fabulous nursery highly recommend!
Read on GoogleAbsolutely wonderful nursery which has seen my little girl come on in leaps and bounds since she started at 7 months old. The activities are varied, creative and thoughtful which is a testimony to the staff's dedication to their roles in the children's lives. I couldn't hope to replicate the learning and experiences at home that she's getting by attending this nursery. I'm kept well informed of activities, development, what she is eating including how much and also sleep so that I have a full picture of her day. It's wonderful to see her go in and head straight for a cuddle with the staff who clearly care for her.
Read on GoogleBoth our little ones have attended Linskill since they were babies. They're incredibly happy there and look forward to going in. The staff are amazing, and we can't fault the care and attention. Our eldest is learning well now in pre-school and we feel she'll be well prepared for school. We've no regrets about choosing Linskill.
Read on GoogleHighly recommended. The facilities are fab and constantly being updated. From the sensory room to the dance hall there is so much to do for little minds. Our little boy has absolutely thrived from being a shy baby to an outgoing young man who loves to sing and dance. The staff are the icing on the cake and support both you and the needs of your child.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended Linskill Nursery since she was 13 months and she absolutely loves it. The facilities are very good and the staff are kind and caring. I would highly recommend the nursery.
