About this day nursery

Little Barn Pre-school offers a nurturing and stimulating environment where children aged 2 to 5 years can thrive and develop. The dedicated and professional team is committed to delivering high-quality education, focusing on each child's individual needs.

The curriculum emphasises supporting learning while fostering self-discipline and independence, preparing children for school readiness. Located behind The Barn Theatre in Oxted, Surrey, the pre-school aims for children to have an enjoyable and rewarding experience, leaving with skills that enable them to confidently meet new challenges.

The programme incorporates sensory activities, language and literacy development, mathematics through play (including a "Mud Kitchen" for hands-on learning), creative arts, and an understanding of the world. Daily diaries keep parents informed, and learning journeys track each child's progress.

The pre-school also provides two-year progress reports and prioritises safeguarding, special educational needs, and strong parent partnerships. An inclusive approach welcomes children from diverse backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and abilities.

The school operates during term time with morning and afternoon sessions, including an optional lunch club.

Pricing & funding

Charges are based on morning or afternoon sessions, with options to book a full day or add a midday lunch club. Fees are invoiced termly in advance.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive support to ensure that they are included and make progress. Staff also support children who speak English as an additional language effectively, using dual language books to help children communicate and share their cultural background.

Outdoor space

Children eagerly explore natural resources in the garden area with staff to learn about nature and the world around them. These include a large bug hotel and herb garden. Staff also plan trips outside of the setting to broaden children's experiences.

What a fantastic caring kind nursery this has been for our daughter the staff go above and beyond and treat every child with such love and care can not recommend little barns enough
