Little Grasshoppers, established in 2021, provides a stimulating and nurturing environment for children aged 0-4 years. Inspected by Ofsted on 19th June 2023 and rated as Good, the nursery operates all year round, ensuring consistent care and learning opportunities.

The curriculum is designed to be engaging and child-centred, with staff planning a variety of activities based on children's interests and developmental stages. Children's emotional well-being is a priority, with key persons ensuring a smooth transition between rooms and helping children feel secure.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, with children enjoying fresh air and exercise daily and older children having the freedom to choose between indoor and outdoor play. The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) is highly knowledgeable and passionate, working closely with parents and other professionals to create individual learning plans, ensuring all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make very good progress.

Little Grasshoppers focuses on developing confident communicators and well-behaved children who are familiar with routines, learning to share and take turns. The experienced manager has a clear vision for the nursery, valuing an approach that goes above and beyond for attending families.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The special educational needs coordinator works well with parents and other professionals to create individual learning plans for children. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about adding to her existing knowledge of how to support children with additional needs. All children make very good progress and are well prepared for their future learning.

Outdoor space

Children spend a lot of time outdoors and benefit from fresh air and exercise. Older children move freely between the indoors and outdoors to make choices about where they wish to play, carefully balancing as they navigate a structure of crates and planks in the garden.
