The setting received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 14th February 2023. With a strong focus on developing independence, children are encouraged to choose their own play and complete tasks, such as toddlers pouring their own drinks and older children helping to tidy up.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on sensory and tactile play, using activities like exploring cooked spaghetti to introduce descriptive language and expand children's vocabulary. Staff make good use of action songs and sign language, encouraging younger children to participate in activities like wiggling their bodies and fluttering their hands.

The nursery also works closely with professionals to support children with special educational needs and disabilities, utilising additional funding for resources to encourage interaction and build confidence.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The nursery works closely with other professionals to help any children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The special educational needs coordinator supports staff and has put in place detailed plans to address any developmental concerns. As a result, any gaps in children's learning and development are quickly addressed. The manager has made good use of additional funding to support children.

Amazing place my 4 year old son has been coming here for the last 2.5 years. He loves it here all the staff are kind and friendly and interact well with the children and grown ups the safety measures that they have are really good and reassuring for parents. My son is always happy to go to nursery and he has come on leap and bounds their send team are great.there is plenty for the children to do at the nursery with indoor and outdoor play/ learning. We will be sad to leave this place in September they have been very supportive to our family ,they have made sure my son is ready to start school . Thank you to everyone who works in the Nursery at little Stars in the cheriton area of folkestone.
