About this day nursery

Millfield Nursery School, situated on eight acres of pristine countryside, offers a unique and stimulating environment for preschool children. Located a short drive from Bingham, Radcliffe-on-Trent, and Cotgrave, the nursery has been providing high-quality care for over 35 years.

Children at Millfield benefit from a family-based setting where different age groups can interact and learn from each other in four spacious indoor rooms. The outdoor area is particularly impressive, featuring an adventure climbing area, slides, swings, and even a pirate ship, all within acres of fields and wildflower meadows where children can explore nature and even feed tamed alpacas.

The nursery operates year-round, closing only for bank holidays and a couple of days before Christmas. Millfield emphasises a strong partnership with parents, encouraging open communication and providing regular updates on children's progress and development.

Meal times include a hot lunch cooked on-site and a light tea, ensuring children are well-nourished throughout their day.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff deliver a focused package of support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They maintain a close working relationship with parents, carers and other professionals to help children to make the best possible progress. They strive for ambition for each child and never limit what they think a child is capable of.

Outdoor space

As older children harvest the pumpkins growing in the garden, staff help them to extend their vocabulary as they use a range of words to describe the different sizes. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

My husband and I have been extremely impressed we our with Millfield nursery. The staff welcome our daughter each morning as if she was family. It is so refreshing to know that our daughter is excelling in this environment. We really feel the balance of nurture and play is just right here and thank the staff for their dedication and commitment to the children. The kids get amazing indoor and outdoor stimulation. Our daughter has a bad intolerance and this has been catered to tremendously. Thank you Liz, Miss Ruby and the rest of your wonderful team at Milfield ❤️

We have used Millfield Nursery for the last 3 years following great reviews from friends. Both of our children have loved their time at Millfield especially the outdoor area, dance classes, home corner and rumpus room! The staff are very friendly and accommodating and have taught our children some key skills setting them up well for school. A big thank you to Mrs Miller who is always available to answer questions and discuss any queries we have had. It’s been a pleasure sending our children to you!

Millfield has been the answer to our childcare wishes for over 3 years! Our daughter absolutely loves everything about it, especially the staff - they're like an extension to our family! The love, care and attention that has been shown to our family is outstanding! The environment is clean and organised with lots of toys, creative and imaginative space. Outside is huge and children can have some freedom whilst under watchful eyes! I've travelled from Bingham daily and have never had a problem travelling by car or parking. I have no regrets choosing Millfield to care for our little one!

Our son Jacob attended Millfield for 12 months ahead of starting school when we moved to the area. Jacob settled in straight away thanks to Mr & Mrs Miller amd their fantastic staff. They have created a nurturing, caring and fun environment and our son loved going there to see the staff and his friends! The outside space is truly stunning and the children spend lots of time exploring the outdoors all year round - a definite plus for us. There is always a fun topic or theme to accelerate the chidren's development, such as Pirate Week or the recent 30th Birthday celebrations. We particularly enjoyed Sports Day and the Summer Dance Show... memories we will cherish forever. Millfield really helped prepare Jacob for school life and I am very happy we made the decision to move him here. Testiment to how lovely Mllfield is... Jacobs 5 yr old brother would regularly say he wished he could be Jacob and go to this nursery! Highly recommend this quality childcare provision
