Mini Malvern Nursery is an independent private nursery school situated on the expansive 55-acre site of The Downs Malvern in the picturesque Malvern Hills, on the border of Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Catering to children from 6 months of age, the day nursery provides a nurturing and stimulating environment designed to give children the best possible start to their educational journey.
The facility boasts three bright, modern classrooms and two outdoor gardens equipped with dedicated adventure play areas. Children also benefit from access to the wider school grounds, including a Forest School and a smallholding with various animals like pigs, quail, chickens, and sheep.
The day nursery operates for approximately 49 weeks a year, from 8 am to 6 pm, accommodating the needs of working parents. They prioritise healthy eating with nutritious, home-cooked meals prepared daily by in-house chefs, accommodating allergies and dietary preferences.
Mini Malvern Nursery follows an "In the Moment Planning" approach for younger children and embraces "Continuous Provision," parent partnership, and extensive outdoor learning. Their curriculum is tailored to support each child’s natural development and interests, encouraging them to learn at their own pace while adhering to the EYFS framework.
They believe children learn best through engagement and fun, integrating activities such as gardening, farming, and nature exploration, alongside extra-curricular classes like cookery, music, dance, baby signing, and art. The nursery also places a strong emphasis on home-school partnership, fostering open communication through dedicated key persons, daily records, online journals, and parent events to ensure parents feel completely comfortable and involved in their child's care and development.
Our ethos
We follow ‘In the Moment Planning’ in the Acorns and Saplings rooms and embrace ‘Continuous Provision’, parent partnership, and outdoor learning. Through this approach, we uphold our ethos of happy children, happy parents, and a happy team by capturing and intertwining each of these ‘voices’. As an independent nursery, we tailor our approach to support each child’s natural development and interests, giving them the freedom to learn at their own pace. We believe that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun, whether they are playing inside or outside.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders and staff quickly and accurately identify children's needs, working closely with families and outside agencies to create individual play plans and adapt the learning environment, especially for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities or other barriers to learning. Leaders use additional funding effectively to make skilful adjustments to the learning environment and to support children's precise needs.
Children engage in outdoor activities, including water play, balancing on stepping stones, and exploring the forest area, visiting animals like pigs and ducklings. These experiences support learning about the world around them.
The nursery supports the development of different languages, with older children learning to speak French, positively impacting children's achievement and wellbeing.
