About this day nursery

Mini Munchkins Montessori Nursery offers a warm and welcoming environment for children to flourish emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The nursery employs the Montessori method of education, integrating it with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to ensure comprehensive learning and development across all seven areas.

Central to their philosophy is the belief in allowing children the independence to learn at their own pace, fostering curiosity through hands-on experiences and engaging activities. The nursery emphasises the unique triangular relationship between the child, the learning environment, and the directress (key-person) to support holistic development.

They strive to create an atmosphere where children can express themselves, respect others, and explore their surroundings, ultimately aiming to provide a strong foundation for future learning and discovery.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is not yet as fully effective as it could be. While new measures have recently been introduced, these are not yet imbedded and so the impact of them can not yet be demonstrated. As a result, there have been delays in seeking extra support, including funding to ensure that children with SEND receive any additional support they require.

Outdoor space

All children have ample opportunities to be active and to practise their physical development in the outdoor area. Babies enjoy learning to become confident climbers under the close supervision of staff.
