Minnow’s Children’s Day Nursery, located in Middlesbrough, is part of the larger Nunthorpe Nurseries Group which serves over 400 children across 9 nurseries in Middlesbrough, Stockton, and Billingham. The nursery is committed to providing high-quality childcare and boasts a team of friendly, professional, and passionate staff who are well-versed in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

They offer a stimulating environment with quality play and learning resources crafted to foster children's imagination and development. The team at Minnow's emphasises building strong relationships with both parents and children, utilising a key person system to tailor activities to each child's individual learning needs.

Led by manager Hanna, Minnow’s Children’s Day Nursery has established a strong local reputation for its friendly service and dedication to inspiring children's growth across all learning areas, aiming to give them the best possible start in life. In addition to daily nursery care, Minnow's also offers engaging programmes like 'Funky Feet,' a unique session for preschoolers focusing on various sports and physical activities to enhance physical and cognitive development, fine motor skills, and overall well-being.

They also provide practical services such as a Breakfast Club starting at 7:30 am with a nutritious meal, an After School Club that includes transportation and light refreshments, and a Holiday Club with diverse activities and educational outings.

Our ethos

Minnow’s Children’s Day Nursery employs a friendly, professional, committed and passionate team, trained in all key areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and its aim is focused on providing quality outstanding childcare. Staff focus on building strong relationships with both parents and their children and our key person system makes sure that activities are designed to be fun and stimulating ensuring the individual children’s learning needs are catered for.

What it's like

Children are happy at the setting and form secure bonds with caring staff. The key-person system is effective. Staff know the children in their care very well, which enables them to plan the next steps for each child's learning. All children, including those with some additional needs, are very well supported by staff, and as a result, they make good progress in their learning and development.
