N Family Club Hackney Downs is situated in a beautifully restored listed building in Hackney Downs, offering a nurturing environment for children. The nursery boasts seven spacious playrooms and a dedicated atelier, all filled with natural light, complementing its expansive 8,000 sq ft garden.

The outdoor space is a highlight, featuring a Forest School area with a vegetable and fruit patch, a shaded baby area, numerous trees, a climbing frame, and a mud kitchen for immersive play and learning. Catered to simplify family routines, the facility provides a car park, as well as storage for buggies, bikes, and scooters.

Additionally, an on-site N Café offers coffee and snacks, fostering a welcoming community atmosphere for parents during drop-off. The nursery is open 51 weeks a year with standard hours from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with extended hours available from 7 am to 7 pm, subject to availability.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support every child's early development, emphasising outdoor learning and hands-on experiences. Children benefit from freshly prepared, balanced meals cooked on-site.

Pricing & funding

Fees are structured as standard monthly plans based on three to five days of attendance per week, with daily and hourly extension rates also available. Age bands are categorised into under 3 years and over 3 years. All fees include food, drink, consumables, and activities.

Leaders and managers have created a warm and welcoming environment for children and their families. Children are excited to see what is on offer as part of the setting's ambitious curriculum. The behaviour of children is good, and staff are positive role models.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported within the setting. Staff work swiftly with parents and other agencies to ensure that referrals and individual support plans are put in place. The setting also uses Makaton signs across all age groups, giving all children, but especially those younger babies and children with special educational needs additional ways to communicate their wants and needs.

Outdoor space

When children discover they can use a stick as a bat to hit balls in the garden, they are eager to share their experiences with staff. Staff provide a cushioned area in the garden with books available, and children eagerly gather to listen as staff begin to read.
