Nene Valley Day Nursery, established in 2012 and located in Peterborough, provides a warm and welcoming environment where children from birth to four years old are supported to develop essential life skills. The nursery operates year-round, Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm, offering full-day care.

With a dedicated team of nine childcare staff, seven of whom hold relevant early years qualifications, the nursery is committed to providing high-quality education. The curriculum is carefully planned to ensure children acquire the knowledge and skills needed for school, with staff regularly assessing progress and sharing it with parents.

SEND provision

The nursery's special educational needs coordinator is very experienced in her role and knowledgeable about the children who attend that require additional support. She and each child's key person work very closely with families and other agencies involved in the children's care to ensure they receive timely interventions and targeted support to meet their development needs.

There are opportunities for children to see and hear their home language in the nursery through resources such as books and bilingual staff.

An amazing nursery with an amazing team. Our families journey has come to an end and as the nursery chapter closes we look back with great appreciation for the role Nene Valley has played in our families lives. Our 4 children blossomed during their years at the nursery - they even managed to get them to eat veg! A massive thank you for all the hard work, support and dedication you have shown not only our children but our family as a whole. Our 4 are now thriving in school and we whole heartedly believe a large part of the reason is the nurturing and education they received here.

Since my two daughters start attending the nursery I have seen a lot of improvement from my daughters they come home and tell me what they have learn . The management it's on top they are very helpful both mangers and staff . The nursery deserve 10/10 you feel welcomed the moment you enter the nursery and the work they do to make kudos .

I'm so glad I have chosen this nursery. We had Finley in a nursery previously but found that due to his additional SEN needs he didn't settle well. It made me nervous about trying another setting but I'm really glad I did. I was nervous but I can safely say choosing nene valley was the perfect choice. I have seen Finley mix with other children and actually play with them rather than finding his safe corner. The staff engage well and he looks forward to his nursery sessions and I feel happy seeing him interact with others in a way he doesn't at home. He even attends forest Friday trips with other children in his classwhich is something I couldn't imagine him doing before he started. I cant recommend nene valley enough. Thank you for all you do for Finley.

Outstanding! My little boy is suspected neurodivergent and has autistic traits. He’s been going for a little over a month and he’s gone from eating baby food to proper food which is absolutely outstanding! Me and his dad have tried for over a year to try and get him to eat proper food. He’s non verbal but since attending this nursery he’s been making different sounds which will eventually lead to being words. I’m honestly pleasantly shocked at the progress he’s doing. The staff are so accommodating for his needs and have been so supportive and patient. Me and my little boys dad was very nervous about starting our son in nursery due to his needs, but all the staff have made it as an easy transition as possible. I 100% recommend this nursery!

We had a truly great learning and growing experience with Nene Valley day nursery. My daughter went to the nursery from April to July (the journey cut short only cus we moved to another distant location unexpectedly) . And although short duration, we saw lot of good changes in her - her speech improved, she learnt to share, and learnt to play with other kids. The nursery and staffs have always been welcoming, and extremely nice and went above and beyond to encompass her, even with her own difficulty in settling in (seperation anxiety). They have been understanding of the situations, and helped her a lot. We really wish she could complete her nursery journey here, until she had started reception.
