Nursery On The Green in Mitcham has been dedicated to early childhood education for over 32 years, establishing a solid reputation for delivering engaging lessons to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in Mitcham and its surrounding areas. Situated adjacent to Mitcham Methodist Church, the nursery boasts impressive and expansive facilities, including a sizable hall that allows children ample room for both learning and play in a secure and comfortable setting.
The premises are thoughtfully designed with multiple rooms, enabling the creation of focused lesson plans that cater to specific age groups and developmental stages. Furthermore, the nursery provides an excellent outdoor playground, offering children the chance to engage in physical activity and learn through play.
The Mitcham branch is managed by Hanna Mayes, who has 15 years of experience with the company and is also a parent, giving her a deep understanding of the emotional aspects of entrusting children to childcare. She emphasises creating a nurturing environment where children are seen as individuals and future contributors to society.
The team includes experienced educators like Sara, the Deputy Manager who works with 3-4 year olds, Dawn and Vikki who specialise in the baby and toddler rooms, Anpu who supports children and staff, and Prema who also works with the 3-4 year olds. The nursery also has an apprentice, Ellie, in the baby room, and a dedicated chef, Keith Johnson, who prepares home-cooked meals for the children.
Grace Waith, the accountant, manages invoicing and payroll, drawing on over 25 years of service with the company.

All children benefit from regular outdoor play opportunities. Babies show delight as staff throw and catch balls with them. Older children skilfully navigate the climbing frame, developing their coordination and balance.
Staff support children's language through the use of signs and symbols. They obtain some useful key words in children's home languages. However, staff do not use these consistently to further support children who speak English as an additional language.
My son attended this Nursery from 12 months until he was 4. I couldn't have asked for more caring and attentive staff. I was very cautious about leaving my son like most parents, however Hannah and the team made me feel welcome and assured me that he would be well looked after. The Nursery has a really nice family feel, and each staff member takes the time to engage and cater for each child's individual needs. My son was made to feel like part of the Nursery on the Green family from day 1. He built personal relationships with each staff member and really enjoyed his time with the Nursery. A big thank you to Sara, Hanna, Stacey and all the staff at Nursery on the Green! You do such a fantastic job.
Read on GoogleMy child attended this nursery, and honestly I can’t recommend them enough. The staff are so good, they helped my child settle straight away which made the process so much easier for myself .My son loved being there so much he didn’t want to come home. The manager process was very smooth and I was really sad when my son had to leave to go to school. Will always be thankful to all the staff It’s never easy to trust people with your child but you all made me feel so at ease and seeing my son so happy to go into nursery everyday made it so much easier thank you Hanna and your team.
Read on GoogleBrilliant nursery – all three of my children attend, and I couldn’t be happier. The staff are absolutely amazing and work incredibly hard, especially the manager, Hanna. Communication with parents is excellent, and I really love the app they use to keep us updated. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.
Read on GoogleMy son is currently attending this daycare. I absolutely love how much his speech has progressed and how inclusive they are. Originally I was scared to take my son to day care but they have been reassuring throughout. They also have great events where they invite parents to join which is unique compared to other daycares. Highly recommend this day care.
