Inclusion & environment
Leaders have improved how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), ensuring staff know how to assess development, plan next steps, and monitor progress. Staff use strategies such as Makaton and visual aids to help children achieve, and funding is used to promote specific children's development.
Children have regular access to the forest school area, which helps those who prefer to learn outdoors stay engaged. They demonstrate collaborative skills during forest school sessions, for instance, when moving long pipes. Staff also help children to risk assess and manage their own safety during outdoor play, encouraging them to decide if it feels safe to climb low-level trees. Children benefit from time in the forest school, searching for bugs and recalling past learning.
I was so worried about moving my daughter to a new nursery when we moved towns, but I’m blown away by just how incredible Oz Tots is that I needn’t have worried at all. Evelyn is SO excited to go in and super chatty all the way home, toddler babbling about what she has been doing and all her friends and the staff names. She’s become obsessed with nature thanks to forest school and her love of arts and crafts is well catered for (as is evidenced by the tons of paintings we now have around the house). It’s clear the team really care for the children here and I’m so glad we made the move. Thank you all!
Read on GoogleI would highly recommend Oz Tots to any parent looking for a nurturing environment for their child to grow and thrive in. Their staff are all incredibly caring and child focused. Kitty, my daughter's key worker is compassionate, approachable, and well liked by the children. Hollie, the manager, is professional and supportive. My daughter is always happy to come to nursery and is always chatting about how much fun she's had, especially at forest school.
Read on GoogleOur son has been at Oz Tots for almost a year now and we couldn’t be happier with the set up, communication and enrichment it provides. The staff are second to none and really care. I would recommend Oz Tots to everyone.
